You Can Still Get Into Yosemite Without A Reservation… Here’s How.
Don’t give up your Yosemite plans just yet!
Starting in June, Yosemite is once again requiring reservations to get into the park. This policy began due to covid, but is being maintained as an antidote to the overcrowding issues that preceded the virus. Anyway, because the permits sell out so quickly, it makes it almost impossible to plan a trip.
So many people have just given up their Yosemite plans, and others have traveled across the country just to be turned away at the gate. So we decided to figure out another way in… and we did. Here’s how.
There is a private bus company that shuttles people into Yosemite from various park & ride stations around the area. Bus tickets start at $10, and if you are a passenger, no park pass is required. Simply leave your car at the station, hop on board the bus, and you’ll have access to the entire park. Below is a map of the bus stops.
Obviously it would be better to have your car, but it definitely beats being turned away at the gate and having to drive back to Connecticut Yosemiteless. The bus company is called YARTS, and you can make a reservation here.
